The main points Sonny wanted us to learn is that the insulin is like a key. Its job is to open up the cells. Glucose, or sugar, goes into the bloodstream. When you draw blood you get a glucose number. normal is 70-99. PreDiabetic is 100-125. Diabetic is 126+
When the glucose goes into the bloodstream, it’s the insulin job to stop the glucose, and convert it into energy for the person to use. It’s bad to have too much glucose. But if you don’t have enough then that is also a bad thing so try to keep your glucose rate from 70-99.
Sonny was trying to point out that Diabetes is a serious disease.
I would tell the person I know who has Diabetes to:
Work out/ stay fit
Eat healthy, eat fruits veggies.
Don’t eat a lot of bad, unhealthy foods.
What are you going to do to prevent Diabetes?
